Worship
The Worship Arts Ministry at Shepherd Church of the Nazarene is filled with a community of artists that Love God with all their heart, mind and soul. We believe that the power of “the arts” in our services can create God-focused transformational moments in the lives of Everyday People.


OUR VISION:

  • To reach as many people as possible for Jesus Christ.

  • To inspire spiritual growth through both corporate and daily worship.

  • To involve as many people as possible in our mission according to their spiritual gifts, talents and abilities as an act of discipleship.

  • To do all we do with excellence as an act of worship.


OUR VALUES:

  • ABILITY – We believe that God has uniquely gifted each person and that everyone should minister according to their God-given gifts, talents and abilities.  All those interested in participating in specific ministry groups, such as the praise band, praise team and soloists, will need to qualify for those opportunities through an audition.

  • AVAILABILITY – God gives ability and in response we give our availability. We believe that God honors and values our commitment to Him. All participants are asked to make a serious commitment to the schedule of the different ministry group(s).

  • TEACHABLE SPIRIT/ SERVANT HEART – We desire each team member to seek after God and to have a daily walk with Him.  Knowing that God values humility and servanthood, we also desire each team member to demonstrate a sincere faith at all times. All team members who seek roles of responsibility in leadership opportunities (directors, vocal team members, band members, ensembles, solos etc…) must demonstrate the heart of a servant, staying faithful to the call of ministry and the work that is involved to do so.  Team members for these additional ministry opportunities will usually be chosen from the choir and band, which are the core groups of this ministry.  There will, however, be times when leadership may extend opportunities to individuals for involvement based upon specialized need of the ministry.  The above mentioned values will always be a primary consideration in these rare exceptions.
